How do you build a relationship? Typically it takes: time, consistent interactions, and genuine connection.
But how can you quickly build a relationship with your customer?
Our blog this month will answer that question (and others)
Let’s get started!
Customer Relationships 101
Before we get into the art of building a relationship with your ideal customer, it’s important to understand what exactly a customer relationship is at its core.
Here’s one definition: An individual customer relationship consists of all the customer interactions along their journey.
Interactions.
The customer relationship is built on many, small interactions.
How did they find your business? What was their first touchpoint? Did they enjoy it?
With that being the nature of customer relationships, now we can drill down into how to make these small interactions positive and memorable.
Understanding Your Customer
Where do positive interactions start…? They start with knowing your customer! So in addition to demographics and geographics.
-Things they care about
-What they like to spend their time on.
-What they like/don’t like
This is where most businesses are falling short – they lack tangible insights on their customers. And they lack insights because they don’t have access to a dependable data source.
This is where a consumer database (and partner to help you manage it) come into play.
Many businesses try to find data themselves. By cobbling together information found online, paying exorbitant fees for datasets and research, or basing decisions on “instinct”…
But the truth is, expert guidance can put you on the path to building customer trust much more quickly!
Meaningful Messages
Once you’re armed with the right information, your touchpoints with customers can be both relevant and engaging.
Going a level deeper, you can even begin to specifically connect with customers on the channels they prefer or pairing digital messaging with real-world experiences.
Once you reach this level of preparedness, you’ve moved from being “just another business” to an entity your audience trusts.
Imagine a world where your audience enjoys receiving marketing messages from your business?!
Conclusion
The message?
Connecting with your customers doesn’t have to be difficult, if you have the right data and you pay attention to the small interactions.
And when you’re struggling to find this type of data, or identifying how your audience interacts with your business, it might be time for a partner to help remove that burden.
Let’s get to work!
